VMware Certified Professional 6 – Data Center Virtualization (VCP6-DCV)

With the VCP6-DCV certification you will be able to configure, administer and scale a vSphere virtualized data center. You can deploy, consolidate, and administer virtualization technologies including vSphere HA and DRS Clusters, storage virtualization using VMFS, Storage DRS and Storage I/O Control, network virtualization using vSphere standard and distributed switches and Network I/O Control, vSphere management using vCenter Server and vRealize Operations Manager Standard, and Virtual Machines.

New Candidate Requirements
Path 1: If You are new to VMware Data Center Virtualization technology

  1. Gain experience with vSphere 6 (minimum 6 months recommended).
  2. Attend one of the required training courses:
  3. Complete the vSphere 6 Foundations Exam
  4. Complete the VMware Certified Professional 6 – Data Center Virtualization Exam

Path 2: If you have had previous vSphere 5.x training, but are not VCP certified (not valid for candidates who have an expired VCP certification).

  1. Attend the vSphere VMware vSphere 5.5 to 6.5: What’s New (VIWN) training course.
  2. Complete the vSphere 6 Foundations Exam.
  3. Complete the VMware Certified Professional 6 – Data Center Virtualization Exam.

Existing Candidate Requirements
Path 1: If you hold a valid VCP5-DCV certification

  1. Complete the VMware Certified Professional 6 – Data Center Virtualization Delta Exam

Path 2: If you hold a VCP certification for any solution track that has not expired

  1. Complete the VMware Certified Professional 6 – Data Center Virtualization Exam

Path 3: If you hold an expired VCP certification for any solution track

  1. Attend one of the required training courses:
  2. Complete the vSphere 6 Foundations Exam
  3. Complete the VMware Certified Professional 6 – Data Center Virtualization Exam
