Der Kurs richtet sich an erfahrene Business- und Data Analysts mit etwas Erfahrung mit Visualisierungstools wie Tableau, QlikView oder Excel mit PowerPivot und dem Wunsch Ähnliches mit Power BI zu erreichen. Man sollte sich mit Power BI Desktop bzw. Power BI Service (powerbi.com) schon etwas auseinandergesetzt haben.

Kursziele

In diesem Kurs lernen Sie, Daten aus unterschiedlichen Quellen zu verwenden, Ihre Daten zu modellieren, zu visualisieren, sowie sie mittels Power BI Desktop und Power BI Service zu teilen. Ziel dieses Trainings ist es, den Teilnehmern das Know-how zu vermitteln, um Datenintegration und -analysen mittels Power BI durchzuführen.

  • Importieren von Daten aus heterogenen Quellen, wie Excel, Access, ERP Systemen, Websites, Online-Services, Social Media uvm.
  • Designen, verfeinern und optimieren von Datenmodellen
  • Kreieren von analytischen Kalkulationen mittels Data Analysis eXpressions (DAX)
  • Kreieren von interaktiven Reports und Dashboards
  • Vermitteln von Erkenntnissen innerhalb der Organisation mittels Content Packs und App Workspaces

Lab 1: Obtaining and Refining Data

Students will work with the Power BI Desktop to perform basic steps in creating queries using the Query Editor and create their first Data Model.

Lab 2: Refinements and Improvements on the Data Model

Students will enhance the Power BI Desktop Data Model by validating data types, formats and navigation paths through the data.

Lab 3: Incorporating Basic DAX Expressions

Students will create their first Data Analysis eXpressions (DAX) into the Power BI Desktop Data Model including how to define standard calculations and expressions.

Lab 4: Create a Simple Report

Students will use Power BI Desktop to build common visualizations off the Data Model including charts, graphs, slicers and maps.

Lab 5: Building Better Visualizations

Students will use basic features offered in the Power BI Service (powerbi.com) to publish reports, create quick insights, share reports, create dashboards and ask questions against the data.

Lab 6: New Ways to Modify Reports

Students will use Power BI Desktop to modify the Data Model with pivots and leverage the M language and incorporate report filters.

Lab 7: Intermediate DAX Calculations

Students will create several new measures using Data Analysis eXpressions (DAX) in the Power BI Desktop Data Model and leverage calculations in new visuals and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Lab 8: Working with Power BI Report Server

Students will publish a report from Power BI Desktop to Power BI Report Server and work with features like the Web Portal including report editing, data refresh and data source connections.

Day 3

Lab 9: Custom Visualizations

Students will discover advanced levels of customization in the Power BI Desktop with custom visuals from the custom visuals Marketplace, R visuals, custom themes and mobile layouts.

Lab 10: Power BI Service and Power BI Report Server better together

Students will use Power BI Report Builder to create a report and publish to Power BI Report Server, create KPIs, apply Row Level Security and share content to the Power BI Service.
